Summoned: For His Pleasure

Summoned: For His Pleasure (The Billionaire's New Toy)

By: Tanya Colt

Genre: Adult, Short Story in Series, BDSM, Romance

Synopsis from Goodreads: If you liked 50 Shades, you will love this story!

Remember James from when we were a kid? That sexy, rich, thirty-something year old guy who moved in and could afford anything he wanted? Yeah. Me too. I was in his penthouse last night.

This is part 1 of The Billionaire's New Toy:
1. Summoned: For His Pleasure
2. Forced: To Enjoy

3. Used: To Satisfy

reviewAlthough I haven't  read 50 Fades Of Gray or watched the movie, yet, I believe that I would enjoy it based on the content do this book.

I liked the characters; it had a protagonist that didn't have a naive personality (which I find the naive types annoying) and a billionaire that was a gentlemen, but a beast at sex. I wouldn't say that this type of sexual preferences would turn me on if I ever experienced them personally, but it had me wondering what it would be like. The story had me on edge and the sex scenes were enjoyable that I wish the story was longer.

There were some spelling errors and grammar mistakes. BUT! it was only a little bit. The book did have a plot and the sexual scenes fitted in smoothly and well. Still, I don't like the cliffhanger. It was too short, I wanted to know more.

This book had a quick plot, but the author did well on introducing the characters. The equal preferences of the billionaire's didn't really surprise me. It almost seems cliche and stereotypical of having a billionaire enjoy BDSM, I enjoyed the book fairly well.

Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling

Synopsis from Goodreads: When Kat accidentally rips apart an old picture book, she's magically transported into the world of Cinderella--as Katriona, one of the ugly stepsisters! Life turns upside down now that she’s a highborn lady and must learn how to survive the social season, including how to get through the door in a huge metal hoop skirt. To get back, she'll have to complete the story, right to the end of happily ever after. But the odds are huge: the other stepsister is drop-dead gorgeous, the fairy godmother is nowhere to be found, and the prince, despite being insanely hot, openly dislikes balls. Can she ever return to the modern world?

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Aya Ling and NetGalley.)

reviewStar Rating: 9 out of 10

Magnificent twist on the classic Cinderella tale. The characters are amazing and described well; the plot is quite suspenseful to make me want to know what happens next. The descriptions make it seem as if I was actually there in the story, watching Kat's journey in the Story World. I literally could not stop reading it.

A wonderful tale from one of the hated and ugly stepsisters of Cinderella, but there is another twist! The ugly stepsister is actually a boy-shy girl from the Modern World transported into the Story World because of an accident. What was it? A CURSE! She accidentally rips an old hardcover of Cinderella and fell down the stairs, now she is in a whole new world.

I would highly recommend this book to those that like twists and retelling of fairy tale stories and from another perspective than the classic's protagonist.

Her Savior: Protected by the Biker Billionaire
(Biker Billionaire Boss #1)
By: Olivia Fex

Synopsis from Goodreads: Camden Blake. Women everywhere want a piece of the billionaire with a heart of steel. After all, men like him are a rarity. Most billionaires aren't careless enough with their life to ride a ducati and most careless men never live long enough to become billionaires.

Tonight, she's sleeping in the bed of a biker billionaire.

reviewStar Rating: 4 out of 10

The story was rushed and it didn't feel like it had much of a story after they had intimate intercourse. The beginning did explain what the day had been and the protagonist's relationship to her current boyfriend, but I just wish that the story began to when the boyfriend had started getting problems.

Ultimately, the beginning was okay but then the suspense between the CEO and the protagonist did not seem enjoyable to me. So many secrets and questions rise and the climax just came too quickly.

I understand that there may be more of a story in the other books in the series, but this first one just wasn't my cup of tea.

The ending was just a big cliff-hanger that had the answers to some questions, but the first book still seemed that it didn't have enough of a story to keep me wanting to read the next, even though I want to know the answers. I had some high expectations of the story, but it didn't fully reach them.

Becoming Alpha

Becoming Alpha (Alpha Girl, #1)

Becoming Alpha (Alpha Girl #1)

Synopsis from Goodreads:Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind.

But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.

Even if the wrong guy did accidentally turn her into one of “them” and doom her to attending the weirdest high school ever, Tessa can’t help her growing attraction to the mysterious Dastien Laurent.

When vampires attack St. Alibe’s and her visions pinpoint an enemy in their midst, Tessa realizes that boy drama and her newfound canine tendencies might just be the least of her problems.

MY reviewWhy was Tessa "Freaky Tessa"? Simple, she had powers. Why did she have the powers? It was in the genes. Did Tessa make any friends in her new school? Yes and no. She first went to a regular school and befriend some people, but after the "turning" incident, they un friended her and treated her as "not wanted."

Tessa has an interesting life. But it only became more interesting after she moved to Texas. Everything was new, different. And this was because of the sudden impulse of an animal inside the man she clicked with from the first sight.

What I liked of this book was that the action (like punching a hateful guy during a party)l the characters and the plot.

Many might say that this books may be cliché, but No. Yes Vamps and Weres are enemies from the get go, this story has many examples of originality.

What I didn't like were some of Tessa's actions. Like "why would she do that? That's not such great idea!" These are some questions I was asking and for me it just felt like the was a dimwit. BUT!!!! the drama and action and romance made up for it.

Also, speaking of romance... The romance between Tessa and Dastien had made me intrigued. There were parts were I was mad because they know the answer to their feelings but were stubborn to realize them. All of the jealously acts and actions had not suited well with me. There jealousy was too intense. But I get it... The jealousy that they had made their love even sweeter. It makes me want to have a guy who feels as strongly as Dastien feels for Tessa and vice versa.

Overall, my rating for this story is...............
9.75 out of 10

Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood #1) by Heather Hildenbrand

Dirty Blood by Heather Hildenbrand
Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood #1)
By: Heather Hildenbrand

Synopsis from Goodreads: I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that’s not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can’t seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted – and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That’s about the time I went into shock… And that was the moment he showed up.

Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, Werewolves do exist. And Two, I was born to kill them.

Goodreads:
reviewTroubles, love, and secrets seem endless for Tara and her long journey on finding her destiny.
description

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!!!!

I was skeptical at first because there are already so many books about Werewolves and such, but I found this fairly original. Her take on Werewolves and Hunters being balanced by strength and stamina may be a bit clique. And also that Werewolves and Hunters are eons long enemies may be a bit clique as well. But, the fact that Ms. Hildenbrand had more secrets to reveal about Tara and her family, the book became very suspenseful (for me).

The romantic conflicts between Tara and George and Tara and Wes sort of made me irritated because Tara makes me second-guessing on her decisions. But, the action and suspense made up for it.

The twists and the irony in some parts of the story surprised me because it was unexpected. The irony had made the book more enjoyable and made me want to keep reading on.
description
I just needed to keep reading or else I was going to die out of anxiousness on finding out what happened next.

The romance in this was also very enjoyable, but I wish there was more...And that the conflicts of Tara's just keep on building up and that there were even more secrets to discover in the series.

Overall, there were parts of the book that had upset me, but the originality and the irony in the book had made it very worth while to read!
